Glyd is an urban electric bicycle from India’s own EV manufacturer – LightSpeed. Glyd is specifically designed for riding to work, running day-to-day errands, and cycling for pleasure on even roads.
It can effectively tackle potholes and other challenges offered by Indian city streets.
MOTOR AND BATTERY
The 250 Watt 32nm Rear Hub Motor on Glyd is powered by a 7.8Ah Lithium Ion Battery.
This battery is concealed in a smart bottle case that rests on the bottom bracket of the bicycle.
The removable battery is also portable, so you can charge it wherever you like, in just 3 hours.
PEDAL BOOST SYSTEM
The 3 Level Pedal Boost System on Glyd replaces mechanical gears and allows you to select the amount of motor assistance you desire.
At Pedal Boost Level Minimum, the entire effort of riding is yours.
As you raise the Pedal Boost levels you get progressively higher assistance from the motor. It almost feels like you’re being pushed forward.
A 12 magnet sensor attached to the bottom bracket senses your pedalling action to give you the right amount of thrust.
Glyd also has a Twist Throttle for times when you want to cruise along.
BASIC DISPLAY WITH LED BATTERY LEVEL INDICATOR
The Basic Display on your handlebar has an inbuilt LED Battery Level Indicator.
This display shows you the remaining battery levels so you know how much to ask of your bicycle, and when to charge the battery.
This efficient display also lets you select and quickly switch between 3 Pedal Boost levels at the touch of a button.
The braking system on your electric bicycle must be responsive and effective as you speed along on your Glyd through mind-numbing urban traffic.
Glyd comes with 26 inch superior grip (low friction) wheels that can take on potholes, puddles, and fast moving traffic with dexterity.
The high calibre e-Brakes on Glyd immediately cut the power supply from the motor when engaged.
On applying the brakes, all movement comes to a swift halt.
If you ride your LightSpeed Glyd well, it can give you a range of approximately 35km on a single charge.
